Stellis Media is the new home of the Ellis Library, the catalogue of 600 programs produced by Stephen Ellis and his late father, Ralph C. Ellis, C.M., O.Ont., over the last 50 years. The award-winning programs were originally produced through the Ellis Entertainment group of companies and have been seen by audiences around the world.
Stephen joined Ellis Entertainment in the early 1970's in the distribution arm of the company, and began producing in 1985. After 16 years as President he took over control of the business when his father retired in 2002, and continued Executive Producing the company's award-winning program output until the library was monetized in 2011.
One of the true pioneers of independent production, Ralph began his career at the National Filim Board of Canada after WWII, and launched Ellis Entertainment in Toronto, in 1964. In 1997 he was presented with both the Order of Canada and Order of Ontario for his contribution to mass communications. He became Chairman Emeritus on retiring in 2002.
